Event Two

EVENT TWO @ THE ROYAL COLLEGE OF ART

Royal College of Art, London

In 1969 the Computer Arts Society organised an event at the Royal College Art entitled Event One (PDF). It was a pioneering exhibition that brought together many early practitioners in the field of computer and digital arts. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this show, we are helping to organise Event Two at the same venue. Event Two will consist of a full exhibition of the CAS50 Collection – now up to over 30 works by 24 artists – together with an exhibition of work by young artists associated with the FLUX Events in London, plus live events and discussion panels from the Computer Arts Society and the Lumen Projects. The programme is as follows (at the RCA unless otherwise stated):

  • Tuesday 9th July 2019: 6pm – 8.30pm Event Two Preview Evening, part of the EVA London 2019 Conference, at BCS London office.
  • Friday 12th July 2019: 6pm – 9pm Preview Night, organised by the EVA London 2019 Conference.
  • Saturday 13th July 2019: 10am – 5pm Open to the Public
  • Monday 15th July 2019: 10am – 5pm Open to the Public. 6pm – 9pm FLUX Events Evening
  • Tuesday 16th July 2019: 10am – 5pm Open to the Public. 6pm – 9pm CAS Evening (Official Launch)
  • Wednesday 17th July 2019: 10am – 5pm Open to the Public. 6pm – 9pm Lumen Evening, featuring Alex Mordvintsev

All evening events take place at the Royal College of Art (except 9th July 2019) and require pre-booking or invitation. See Event Two information from CAS. Following Event Two, the new additions to the CAS50 Collection are being brought to Leicester to an exhibition at the LCB Depot (opening Monday 22nd July).

The CAS50 Collection exhibitions are being supported by Arts Council England.
