Digital Futures 2018
Monday 9th July 2018 and Thursday 12th July 2018 at the BCS London Office, 5 Southampton Street, Covent Garden, London
Digital Futures is a regular event and open platform organized by V&A Digital Programmes for displaying and discussing work by researchers, academics, the industry and practitioners working with art, technology, design, science and beyond. It is also a networking event, bringing together people from different backgrounds and disciplines with a view to generating future collaborations. This annual special event in partnership with EVA takes place before the EVA London 2018 Conference and is free to attend.
The event adopts a show and tell format including talks, demos and/or participatory work. Proposals for exhibits or demonstrations should be submitted via EasyChair before 16th March 2018 – please see the relevant section on this page for further guidance on proposing for Digital Futures.
More information about the Digital Futures programme is available through their blog on the V&A website.
Proposals
Proposals may be for an exhibit or demonstration and should relate to digital technology and the arts in the broadest sense. Please submit only a summary proposal, up to one page (400 words) for selection. Your proposal must be submitted via the EasyChair website by 16th March 2018, accessed at the following URL: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=df2018
All submissions must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference, although proposals related to submissions to the associated EVA London 2018 Conference at the same venue (10-12 July 2018) are allowed, but please make a note of this in your proposal. Proposals for presenting small-scale work (including research projects and work in progress) in a show-and-tell format are welcome. Please note that:
- You should include dimensions, set up information and requests for equipment with your proposal.
- Work needs to be set up within a few hours on the day of the event.
- Proposed work can be in any medium, but not bigger than 2m2, and should ideally be freestanding.
